Taking a trip down memory lane

I decided to drop by my old home address and the basketball court where I've spent most of my days with my secondary school friends. Its nice to see how much they have changed after a decade. Yes, it has been that long since my secondary school days and I'm almost reaching 30.

That doesn't keep from reminiscing this place though, actually the older you get the more you look back to the past. This is what the block I used to live at looked like now and now they are getting the lifts upgrade it seems. I remembered the lifts now go from 1st to the 5th and finally to the 8th floor - not really ideal for old people to live in.

The basketball court change a lot as well since they included fences around the court, no more flying balls all around and picking up balls on the road which is so dangerous! I'm saddened that this place became less lively during the after school hours though, it was so packed during my secondary school days, like always.

Next is the coffee shop which made me so fat because of all the good food! Nah just kidding I don't blame them its just my lack of exercise over here. Many stalls here have changed but there is one thing that I really like though here. My favorite thai food store is now here although the awesome chicken rice stall is gone. The western food here is pretty decent as well, much better than where I live at right now. Do check out Xin Yang Thai Food and I highly recommend trying their dish #1 and #2.

#1 is the chicken rice with chilli, and if you can't stand spicy thai food you can opt for the non spicy version just tell the uncle to exclude the chilli. #2 is my favorite fried rice which has really good fragrance and texture, but for this dish its best to eat it when food. The others can still be good when its not as hot anymore, but the fried rice taste best when its hot.

A picture of what's available. Sorry for the overexposed food pictures!

Also, do take note of their opening hours and they are always closed on Thursdays. I'll share a secret here if you stay with me until the end of the blog - and do not cheat and scroll down right after this because I'm watching you!

This is dish #1, the chicken rice without the spicy chilli and you can also ask for the soy sauce because the uncle usually don't give it. Its nicer that way trust me!

OK, here is my secret regarding getting your food here. You can always call in to get them to pack your food in advance. Their contact number is 9737 6985 but wait just a minute before you start spamming their phone line.

They recently posted on their Facebook page that they will no longer answer phone calls after 5.15pm due to overwhelming orders - especially during the weekends. They are so good that I keep going back and its totally worth the wait! Let me know if you guys have tried it out and tell me what you feel!
